PETER HALLEY (Claude & Others)
What an absolute thrill to return to Gander this summer to reprise the role of Claude Elliot. Peter Halley is a Newfoundlander born and bred and he’ll be one till he dies. As Artistic Director of nationally award-winning Spirit of Newfoundland Productions, a position he has proudly held for 26 years, Peter has written, directed and been featured in more than 80 of the companies 90+ productions. He has literally screeched-in thousands of visiting CFA’s through conferences, conventions, as well as many virtual ceremonies for television. Peter has been a featured guest with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra many times including tributes to Harry Belafonte, Simon and Garfunkel, the Beatles, Mamas and Papas, and ABBA. Some of the many roles he has played include Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, King Arthur in Spamalot and M. Thénardier in Les Miserables with Atlantic Light Theatre, Frankie Avalon in Grease, Daddy Warbucks in Annie and Harry in Mamma Mia! with Theatre St. John’s. Peter has been a busy performer over the last 30 years in theatre, radio, television and film. As a recipient of the Queens Diamond Jubilee medal for his contribution to Canadian culture, Peter is thrilled to add Come From Away in the role of Mayor Claude Elliot to his list of rich characters.
