CYRUS LANE (Nick & Others)
Cyrus is very happy to be back in Gander performing in this beloved production of Come From Away. Since last summer, he has performed in Necessary Angel/Canadian Stage’s Winter Solstice and Talk is Free Theatre’s Madam Minister and Blackbird. For the Stratford Festival, he has acted in seven seasons, with highlights including Herman in the New York Times lauded Wedding Band, The Professor in the world premiere of Hannah Moscovitch’s Bunny, and Orlando in Jillian Keiley’s production of As You Like It (co-starring Come From Away’s Petrina Bromley as Rosalind). In Toronto, some of Cyrus’s favourites include ARC’s critical hit Oil, Scrooge in A Christmas Carol (Ross Petty Productions), Passion Play, Charlie Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown (YPT) and Twelve Angry Men and The Secret Chord: A Leonard Cohen Experience for Soulpepper Theatre. In 2023, Cyrus won the Dora Mavor Moore Award for his performance as Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd (Talk is Free Theatre). On TV, he also plays fan favourite Rupert Newsome on CBC’s long-running hit, Murdoch Mysteries. He sends his love to the wonderful people of Newfoundland – especially his Dad’s community of Comfort Cove.
